Job well done again for Lee Westwood, who continued his run of stellar play at The PLAYERS Championship, where he birdied the final hole to earn a solo second a stroke back, one week after the 47 year old was runner-up at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The Englishman earned more than $1.6 million and was joined in the top 10 by two PING pros: Canadian Corey Conners in seventh and Frenchman Victor Perez at T9.
“I feel like I’m still improving,” said Westwood, owner of 25 European Tour titles (44 overall), and he has won in each of the past four decades.
On The Rise
Westwood’s high finish elevated him in the world ranking to 19th from 31st.
He was 48th as recently as November.
